Belpre Senior Center Expanding Programs
Belpre, OH The O'Neill Senior Center and the City of Belpre have entered into a strategic alliance designed to enhance senior programs and activities for the senior citizens of the Belpre area. ONeill has agreed to provide management services for the Citys Senior Center.
The City of Belpre has a long history of support for senior programs, providing a facility and staffing for the Belpre Senior Center located on Washington Boulevard, near the Belpre municipal building. ONeill Center is a private non-profit corporation, which serves seniors from throughout Washington County. O'Neill administers many interrelated programs which literally touch the lives of thousands of older citizens each year including medical transportation, homemaker and living assistance, respite care for Alzheimers victims, adult day services, Prescription Assistance for Seniors (PAS), health promotion programs and health screenings, Medicare paperwork and income tax assistance, fitness and life enrichment activities, and a variety of supportive services.
The O'Neill Center envisions the Belpre Senior Center as a vital community resource that values and respects older adults by helping them live as independently as possible, with abundant opportunities to learn new skills and expand knowledge, to maintain health and physical fitness and to develop social supports that enrich their lives. The O'Neill Senior Center has selected Susie Casto to fill the position of Belpre Center Manager. She brings extensive experience and knowledge of senior programs, activities and the local community.
Belpre Senior Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm and a full schedule of programs and activities will be available soon.
