Thursday, April 24th, 1pm Dr. Zane Lazer of Ohio Valley Eye Physicians & Surgeons will be speaking of the diseases that can affect the eye.

Monday, April 21, 1pm Learn the early signs of Alzheimers. A representative of Marietta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will present a program on this topic and provide answers to your questions

The important topic of bladder cancer screening will be discussed by a representative from Marietta Memorial Hospital outreach speakers program. Free screening kits will be available. Register by calling the O’Neill Center (740) 373-3914.

Kellyn Wagner, a graduating senior of West Liberty State College with a degree of Dental Hygiene will give you information concerning Oral and Dental Health

Darrin Marsh the Director of Physical Therapy at McCarter Health Center in Parkersburg, WV, will conduct the Senior Fitness Test. Much like the Presidential Fitness Test for children, this simple and non-invasive screening will cover 6 components of fitness. The results can identify areas of weakness and serve to direct strength and conditioning programs that enhance quality of life. Registration is required – call the Center at (740) 373-3914.

Helping seniors be HIP – Healthy, Independent, and Productive – that’s the mission of the O'Neill Senior Center. For over 25 years, the O'Neill Center has delivered programs, activities, and services that have enabled thousands of older adults to remain healthy, actively engaged, and living in the community.

Louise Gray of Lowell, Ohio was honored by O'Neill Senior Center for her twenty years of volunteer service as bingo manager. At a recent event, the Center dedicated the facility’s main area to Mrs. Gray. Over sixty people attended the dedication which included recognition of all volunteers who assisted with the weekly bingo operation.

The Washington County Senior Services Levy is making a difference in the lives of thousands of senior citizens.
